Toyota Rav4 2008

Toyota Rav4 2008: Now in the third design year of its complete redesign, the Toyota RAV4 receives only trim modifications for 2008. The 3rd row of seats on the Limited has been terminated, although that is no excellent loss, as they were incredibly confined.

The RAV4 is offered with 2 engines, a 2.4-litre four-cylinder mated to a four-speed automated, as well as a 3.5-litre V6 with a five-speed automatic transmission.

A version with front-wheel drive is sold in the United States, yet all Canadian designs utilize Toyota's "Active Torque Control" 4x4 system, which permits the vehicle to change continually and perfectly in between front- and four-wheel modes. A hands-on locking switch permits a maximum torque split of 55/45 between the front and also rear wheels, under speeds of 40 km/h. All versions include car security control as well as traction control, while V6 models add hill-start as well as downhill aid control.

With the enhancement of the new four-cylinder Sporting activity trim line, both engines come in Base, Sport or Limited setup.

Functions on the Base designs consist of 17-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, CD/MP3 stereo with auxillary jack, fabric seats, 60/40 folding as well as lying rear seats, power locks with keyless entry, power windows, tilt and telescopic wheel, floor mats, cruise ship control, warmed mirrors, roofing rack, privacy cover, soft tire cover, variable periodic wipers with deicer, and recurring back washer/wiper.

The Sport versions include 18-inch alloy wheels, costs towel seats, cargo internet, personal privacy glass, power sunroof, colour-keyed fender flares, black headlamp border and fog lights.

The Restricted models include 17-inch alloy wheels, six-CD/MP3 stereo with auxilliary jack, dual-zone automated environment control, leather-wrapped wheel, footwell lights, as well as molded tire cover.

Now providing comparable appointments with both engines, the RAV4 can be rather underpowered in its four-cylinder configuration; the V6 is a better choice, and also not that much of a step up in price. The 60/40 rear seat folds completely to create a flat baggage space, without having to flip seat pillows or eliminate head restraints, making it very easy to convert to freight stowage. In 2008, production is expected to relocate from Japan to a new place in Woodstock, Ontario.

NEW FOR 2008:

- Base V6 available with new "B" Bundle option

- Sporting activity V6 obtains new titanium-coloured alloy wheels

- Third-row seats erased on V6 Limited

- Outside colours: Black Woodland Pearl added; Nautical Blue Metallic erased; Everglade Metallic currently features Ash indoor rather than Taupe
